there's a fingernail moon through a breaking of limbs in the blue august sky I'm drunk in the backyard so I can get some thinking done maybe I started too soon a letter wrote not to send gave a reason why I don't mind being lonesome if I'm the only one how are you holding out? I know you love the taste of those cigarettes just because I have one doesn't mean I'll start again but if you have your doubts I'll put this one out and promise to quit I will find a new addiction what we choose to keep in a frame so strange when a life left in boxes gathers dust all these changes I've made feel like one big mistake I'm leaving tonight like some kind of sacrifice there's a broken glass jar that rolls in the back of your automobile that rattling sound reminds me of my younger days when there was nowhere too far I slept in my car I tried to live like Neil comes a time I suppose when we all just lose our way but now it's the smell of fresh paint and the sound of the rain that bring me to tears I keep looking back to a portrait of some other time when I kept a loose grip I felt a tug on my wrist and I pulled away these days, those days are on my mind when you're asleep at night I'm awake rustling throught these pages I've kept since June I'll do my best to hide these demons you decided were too close for comfort and too involved in this fight were we so far out of reach it seems to me to be such a waste in times like these to say we're incomplete oh how could we end this oh how could we end this oh how could we end this right here?

"Full of wordy poetry and haunting atmospherics that recall indie storytellers like Conor Oberst and Sufjan Stevens, Andy Holmes' late-night folk music is rich with existential observations about everything from panic attacks, to the loneliness of city life." -IndyWeek
